The Atlanta Motor Speedway track, un-resurfaced for more than a decade, has been described as everything from an ice rink to a skillet drizzled with hog fat. (Okay, I made that second one up.) But it's still the kind of place where you can find yourself sideways in a hurry, as Kurt Busch found out this past Sunday:
Cameras caught Busch pounding the roof of his car back in the garage, and with good reason. He'd absolutely dominated at this track in the spring, and had the opportunity to clinch a Chase berth with a strong finish. But the early departure left him in seventh place and in no way safe in the Chase hunt.
Reed Sorenson, meanwhile, tried valiantly to get Richard Petty's attention, but The King only had eyes for Kasey Kahne.
