NASCAR rolls out 2010 schedule, few surprises await

We still haven't put 2009 to bed yet -- it's whining and keeps saying it wants a glass of water, or something -- but it's already time to begin looking at 2010. NASCAR has released its slate of races, and we can look forward to ... more of the same, really.

Things kick off on Valentine's Day with the Daytona 500 -- start figuring out how to appease your non-race-loving significant others right now, folks. From there, everything's pretty much business as usual. Phoenix and Texas will exchange their race dates, leaving the Sunday of the Masters open and race-free. (To those who would say, "NASCAR can't even beat golf?": It can't. An early-season race against one of the biggest sports event of the year is no contest. NASCAR was right to punt -- or, in racing terms, throw a competition caution.)

Other changes: Dover moves up three weeks in the schedule because there are five weekends in May. And Kentucky Speedway remains blissfully Sprint Cup-free. (Well, maybe not blissfully, but they still ain't getting a race in '10.)
