They make it 'cause we buy it: Urban Dictionary mugs

No sport offers up a more bewildering array of souvenir crap memorabilia than NASCAR, and They Make It digs deep into the corners of the Internet to bring all that strangeness to light. Today: something for the haters!

The item: Urban Dictionary mugs featuring NASCAR driver "definitions," $19.95 from UrbanDictionary.com.

The deal: Familiar with Urban Dictionary? It's the place to go when you're trying to figure out exactly what the kids are saying these days with their expressions and lingo and whatnot. (Be forewarned: about 80 percent of these definitions are for activities you wouldn't want to be engaged in around your parents.) Urban Dictionary has taken the inspired step of transferring these "definitions" to coffee mugs, so if you want to tell the world what a ... hmm, you know, I can't find a family-friendly definition in the bunch.

Lately, Urban Dictionary has been offering up "definitions" of famous personalities, and NASCAR drivers are no exception. You probably don't want to dig too deeply into your favorite driver's "definitions"; the Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Sr. ones are, uh, particularly exotic. But as long as you can keep arm's-length from the site -- and wash your hands when you're done -- you should be just fine.

The hat tip: Reader Jessica Wisniewski, who pointed us to what she considers a dead-on Kyle Busch mug. (No, we can't print it here.) Got some strange NASCARiana for us to check out? Hit us up at jay.busbee@yahoo.com!
