Robby Gordon introduces Joey Logano to the wall

The latest sign that Joey Logano is becoming a man: he's gone and gotten himself in a Robby Gordon dustup. It's kind of a rite of passage for young men, like shaving or buying your first Rush CD. Gordon and Logano had battled earlier in the race, with Logano taking out Gordon's tire, and then later on ... boom:

Afterward, Logano uncorked one of the better quotes of the year: "Apparently, we got in a little grudge match after I cut down his tire," he said. "It's a pretty raw deal. You can't fix stupid, it's forever. You put that in your memory bank."

To his credit, Gordon stepped up afterward and indicated that he was glad Logano was okay, though he couched it in one of those non-apology apologies: "We both had good cars and were just trying to improve our finishing position for the day," he said. "I felt he would be OK because he was in the section where the outer loop was. Rather than going down the inner loop, he decided to cut across the grass, hitting the tire barrier ... This is a highly competitive sport, and we are all very passionate when we are on the track. Tempers have a tendency to flare, but hopefully in the future we will both race each other cleaner."

Okay, mark another learning experience off Logano's list. So when's he going to change his name to "Joe"? That's when we'll know the transformation is complete.
