Four Wide: Discerning bank robbers endorse Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Every day, we bring you the best in NASCAR news and updates. Get your day rolling right ... or left, whichever.

• Remember that bank robber in Salt Lake City who was caught on camera wearing a Junior shirt? Well, he's not alone. A stickup artist in Memphis was caught on camera wielding a gun and proudly wearing the 88. And a woman involved in a fatal hit-and-run in Michigan was tracked by her No. 3 sticker. Geez. Thanks for the endorsements, folks. [All Left Turns]

Kyle Busch is running phenomenally well in Nationwide and not so well in Sprint. But that's because the Sprint competition is so weak, right? Not so fast, slick. Interesting statistical breakdown here of the disparity in Kyle's performances. [Upon Further Review]

• Checking in with the Whelen short track series -- Keith Rocco remains at the top of the heap, followed by defending national champ Phillip Morris. [The Backstretch]

• Pit stops are going to be critical at this weekend's Watkins Glen race, and expect some screwups. Why? Because the whole setup is backwards. Go ahead, make your Junior jokes right now. [NASCAR Insiders]

Reed Sorenson swallowed a little carbon monoxide at the Pocono race and Richard Petty Motorsports brought Jacques Villeneuve to help out, but it looks like Sorenson will be available after all. [Catchfence]
