Merchandising giant Motorsports Authentics has named Joe Mattes as interim president, filling the role vacated by the sudden departure of Mark Dyer in February.
A 14-year veteran of the stock car racing industry, Mattes has been president of Sports Image, was co-founder and president of Chase Racewear, and vice president of the NASCAR.com Superstore. Mattes will remain as vice president of licensing for JR Motorsports, the team of Dale Earnhardt Jr., NASCAR's most popular driver and a leading source of the Concord, N.C.-based merchandiser's revenue.
