Say what you will about the double-file restarts -- drivers don't seem to care for them overmuch -- they're doing what they're supposed to do, which is provide us with some outstanding final-laps racing. (Let us talk not of phantom cautions.) I love it when you've got multiple legit challengers in the final laps of a race, and we had exactly that on Saturday night, with Denny Hamlin, Brian Vickers, Jimmie Johnson and Mark Martin all vying for one little piece of real estate -- the one at the front:
Credit Martin for hanging tough and taking advantage of the mistakes/miscues/paint-rubbing going on all around him. He's now got more wins than anybody on the season, and we'll be talking in just a bit about how that affects his Chase hopes. (Positively, as you'd expect.) Go old guys!
