Here's one for the record books. The Montreal Gazette brings us the story of one Sam Thornton, who's turned his garage into a NASCAR-and-hockey shrine.
Think you've got some choice NASCAR-watching digs? Check this. Thornton has 46,693 Coors and Budweiser bottle caps stuck to the walls of the garage, arranged in the shape of his favorite drivers' numbers. Look at the photo there at top left and take a wild guess who they are. (Aside: That's an awfully exact number. Who the heck counted these caps, huh?)
Beyond that, he's got dozens of model cars and hockey memorabilia. He's also tricked out the joint with a fridge, a furnace (this is Canada, you know), a pantry and a 47-inch TV for watchin' the racin'.
47,000 beer caps. Jeez. When I did that in college, they called the administration on me. Of course, the caps were accompanied by various half-full and broken bottles, but still.
