Moss' NASCAR truck team ready

Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss is ready to get his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team into competition, the Boston Herald reports.

The Moss Motorsports No. 81 (81 is Moss's jersey number) will make its debut July 19 at Kentucky Speedway, a source told the newspaper. Sponsors and the team's manufacturer affiliation have not been announced.

Moss is expected to officially announce his race team's plans Thursday at Daytona International Speedway. A prominent Sprint Cup driver is expected to race the No. 81 truck at Kentucky, the Herald reports.

Moss has been a NASCAR fan for several years and earlier this year announced his intention to start a trucks team, with the hope of running a full CTS schedule in 2009. He is a Goodwill Ambassador for the Urban Youth Racing School.
