Clint Bowyer said Friday that he had signed a multi-year deal with Richard Childress Racing to continue driving one of the team's three Chevrolets in NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series.
Bowyer had said June 6 that team owner Richard Childress had picked up the one-year option remaining on his contract, and that the parties were working on a long-term deal.
Asked Friday about rumors that he might be looking to drive elsewhere, Bowyer said he had "signed up with RCR for three more years."
Childress, whose team also fields entries for Jeff Burton and Kevin Harvick, would only say that Bowyer "is going to be with us for awhile."
"I'll let (Clint) comment on it," Childress said.
Bowyer, who scored his first Cup win here last September, is currently 10th in the point standings, a fall of six positions since his win earlier this year at Richmond. His fourth-place finish a week ago at Infineon Raceway ended a streak of five consecutive races in which he finished 15th or worse.
Burton is second in the point standings while teammate Harvick slipped out of the top 12 last week, falling to 13th.
